Abstract

Museum Siginjei Provinsi Jambi menyimpan koleksi sejarah keramik. Berlandaskan data dari inventaris koleksi keramik Museum Siginjei, ada 433 koleksi diantaranya seperti piring, guci, kendi, mangkuk, vas, dan mangkuk (tempayan). Salah satu jenis keramik yang termasuk dalam koleksi Museum Siginjei Provinsi Jambi adalah guci. Museum Siginjei Provinsi Jambi memiliki koleksi guci dengan sejumlah bentuk dan rupa dimulai dari guci yang berukuran kecil hingga berukuran besar yang dikenal dengan istilah tempayan. Gambaran umum koleksi guci museum, dipecah menjadi data primer dan sekunder, diberikan pada tahap ini dalam proses pengumpulan data. Penelitian ini berusaha mengungkap bagaimana variasi pemanfaatan guci di museum Siginjei provinsi Jambi. Untuk menjawab masalah penelitian ini, pendekatan yang dipakai adalah tipologi. Dalam pendekatan tipologi ada 3 tahapan, yang pertama adalah menentukan bentuk dasar objek, menentukan sifat dasar objek, dan yang terakhir adalah mempelajari proses perkembangan yang terjadi pada objek hingga berwujud seperti sekarang ini. Adapun tujuan yang diharapkan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tipologi bentuk dan material guci koleksi Museum Siginjei serta potensi pemanfaatannya. Penelitian ini memakai pendekatan penalaran induktif yang bersifat eksploratif, deskriptif, dan eksplanatif serta membentuk hipotesis melalui observasi dan pengukuran. Penalaran yang dipakai dalam penalaran kualitatif semacam ini dilandaskan pada karakteristik data. Siginjei Museum, Jambi Province, holds a collection of historical ceramics. Based on inventory data from the Siginjei Ceramic Museum collection, there are 433 collections including plates, jars, jugs, bowls, vases and bowls (jars). One type of ceramic included in the collection of the Siginjei Museum, Jambi Province, is the jar. The Siginjei Museum, Jambi Province, has a collection of jars in a number of shapes and forms, ranging from small to large jars known as jars. At this stage in the data collection process a general description of the jar museum collection is provided, which is broken down into primary and secondary data. This research seeks to reveal variations in the use of jars at the Siginjei Museum, Jambi Province. To answer this research problem, the approach used is typology. In the typology approach there are 3 stages, namely the first stage determines the basic shape of the object, determines the basic properties of the object, and the final stage studies the development process that occurred in the object until it became the form it is today. The expected aim of the results of this research is to determine the typology of the shapes and materials of the urns in the Siginjei Museum collection and their potential utilization. This research uses an inductive reasoning approach that is exploratory, descriptive and explanatory and generates hypotheses through observation and measurement. The reasoning used in this type of qualitative reasoning is based on the characteristics of the data.
