Abstract
ABSTRACT Along with the rate of development and population growth in an area, rivers change their function to become a place for the accumulation of waste from human activities. This causes pollutants to enter the river flow and at a certain point when the river's capacity for pollution loads reaches its limit, river pollution will occur with various new problems. This research was conducted in the Batang Tembesi River, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province. This research will use several parameters including TSS, TDS and turbidity in the Batang Tembesi River water in Sarolangun Regency which will be tested at the Sarolangun Regency Living Laboratory using descriptive analysis and a quantitative approach. In the Batang Tembesi River there are several sources of pollution originating from agricultural activities, domestic waste produced by residents' activities, coal mining and illegal activities, namely C mining and Unlicensed Gold Mining (PETI). Based on the results of Qual2KW modeling and Pollution Load Carrying Capacity (DTBP) calculations, it was found that according to the TSS parameters, the river could no longer accommodate the incoming pollution load. Meanwhile, in terms of TDS parameters, the Batang Tembesi River can still accommodate the load of incoming pollutants. Keywords: Pollution Load Carrying Capacity; Batang Tembesi River; Qual2Kw; TSS; TDS ABSTRAK Seiring laju pembangunan dan pertumbuhan penduduk sebuah daerah, sungai beralih fungsi menjadi tempat akumulasi pembuangan limbah aktivitas manusia. Hal tersebut menyebabkan bahan pencemar masuk ke aliran sungai dan pada titik tertentu ketika daya tampung sungai terhadap beban pencemaran sudah mencapai batasnya, maka akan terjadi pencemaran sungai dengan berbagai masalah baru. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sungai Batang Tembesi Kabupaten Sarolangun, Provinsi Jambi. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan beberapa parameter yang meliputi TSS, TDS dan Kekeruhan pada air Sungai Batang Tembesi di Kabupaten Sarolangun yang akan diuji di Laboratorium Hidup Kabupaten Sarolangun dengan analisa deskriptif dan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pada Sungai Batang Tembesi terdapat beberapa sumber pencemar yang berasal dari kegiatan pertanian, limbah domestik yang dihasilkan oleh kegiatan penduduk, pertambangan batubara serta aktivitas ilegal yaitu galian C dan Penambangan Emas Tanpa Izin (PETI). Berdasarkan dari hasil pemodelan Qual2KW dan perhitungan Daya Tampung Beban Pencemaran (DTBP) didapatkan bahwa pada parameter TSS, sungai sudah tidak dapat menampung beban pencemaran yang masuk.
