Abstract

Key Word: Students Involvement, Development, Reading for General Purposes, and Course Materials The research problems were focused on kind of students involvement and the quality of students involvement in the development of reading for general purposes course materials. The purposes of the research were to explored the kind and the quality of students involvement in the development of reading for general purposes course materials. The method that was used in this research was Qualitative Research. The subject of this research was first semester students of English study programme 2018/2019 Jambi University. The researcher gave a test to all of the students from B class. The test results were scored, and the subjects of the research were selected and specified into three categories based on their score, they are high score, moderate score, and low score. The data were collected through observation checklist, interview, and video recorder. The results of this research showed that the students from respective categories of score have similarity of involvement for some items in the observation checklist. On the other hand for some items show that high score students have high involvement rather than low score and moderate score.
