Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan ketebalan dan kematangan gambut di desa Tangkit Baru Kecamatan Sungai Gelam, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi menggunakan metode grid serta mengetahui karakteristik fisik tanah gambut serta metode pembuatan peta menggunakan kriging. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tinggi muka air (TMA) mendapat nilai tertinggi pada titik T13 dan T20 nilai yang terendah. Hasil pengukuran ketebalan gambut pada tabel diketahui bahwa ketebalan gambut hingga mencapai lapisan mineral antara <200 cm sampai dengan >500 cm. Ketebalan gambut di lokasi penelitian tergolong gambut sedang (<200 cm) , gambut dalam (200–300 cm) dan gambut sangat dalam (>300 cm), berdasarkan luasannya gambut dengan ketebalan <200 cm memiliki luas area 73,44 ha, gambut dengan ketebalan 200-300 cm memiliki luasan 127,50 dan gambut dengan ketebalan >300 memiliki luasan 649,1 ha. Tingkat kematangan gambut di Desa Tangkit Baru didominasi oleh kelas kematangan H8-H10 yang tergolong kedalam jenis kematangan saprik berdasarkan luasannya kematangan H8 memiliki luasan 83,5 ha, H9 memiliki luasan 361,0 ha dan H10 memiliki luasan 329,5 ha. Kandungan C-organik lokasi penelitian termasuk sangat tinggi. Kandungan C-organik yang terbesar adalah 50,07% dan nilai yang paling rendah adalah 38,09%. Sedangkan kandungan kadar abu yang tertinggi adalah 34,33% dan nilai terendah adalah 13,67%. Kata Kunci: Pemetaan, Lahan Gambut, C-Organik, Tingkat Kematangan This research aims to map the thickness and maturity of peat in Tangkit Baru village, Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province using the grid method and determine the physical characteristics of peat soil and the map making method using kriging. The results of the research show that the water level (TMA) received the highest value at point T13 and T20 the lowest value. The results of measuring the thickness of the peat in the table show that the thickness of the peat until it reaches the mineral layer is between <200 cm to >500 cm. The thickness of peat at the research location is classified as medium peat (<200 cm), deep peat (200–300 cm) and very deep peat (>300 cm), based on its area, peat with a thickness of <200 cm has an area of 73.44 ha, peat with 200-300 cm thick has an area of 127.50 and peat with a thickness of >300 has an area 649.1 ha. The level of peat maturity in Tangkit Baru Village is dominated by maturity classes H8-H10 which are classified as sapric maturity types based on their area. H8 maturity has an area of 83.5 ha, H9 has an area of 361.0 ha and H10 has an area of 329.5 ha. The organic C content of the research location is very high. The highest C-organic content was 50.07% and the lowest value was 38.09%. Meanwhile, the highest ash content was 34.33% and the lowest value was 13.67%.
