Abstract
Background: Depression is a mental disorder characterized by symptoms of decreased mood, loss of interest in somethingsy and phychosocial stressors are factors that are often present in depressed patients. The depiction of psychosocial stressors is important to know what are the dominant psychosocial stressors in depressed patients in supporting the healing process undertaken by patients and preventing relapse due to repeated and unmanageable psychosocial stressors. Objective: This study aims to ind out Description of Psychosocial Stressors in Depressed Patients Jambi Province Regional Mental Hospital Methods: This descriptive quantitative study included 60 outpatients with depression who sought treatment at the Jambi Provincial Mental Hospital Poly Clinic and had been diagnosed by a mental medicine specialist. The level of psychosocial stressors was assessed using a questionnaire based on the guidelines of the Psychosocial Stressor Assessment Instrument (IPSP). Results :The most common of psychosocial stressor in depressed patients at the Jambi Provincial Mental Hospital are economic difficulties and daily living expenses (65%), the death of a life partner or family member (63.33%), having a desire or being a scapegoat (60%), having unfulfilled wishes or requests (55%), and conflicts between work colleagues, friends, or close neighbors (43.33%). Conclusion: The greatest psychosocial stressors for depressed patients at the Jambi Provincial Mental Hospital are influenced by economic factors, loss of loved ones, unfair treatment by others, unfulfilled desires, and poor social relationships.
