Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tipologi nisan di Kompleks Makam Engku Puteri Raja Hamidah Pulau Penyengat, Kepulauan Riau. Nisan-nisan di situs tersebut tersebar dalam jumlah sangat banyak dan diduga berkaitan erat dengan Kesultanan Lingga. Namun, nisan-nisan tersebut belum pernah diidentifikasi sehingga tipologinya belum diketahui. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut, maka seluruh nisan di situs tersebut diobservasi secara detail melalui pendekatan arkeologi. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Setelah data terkumpul, data-data tersebut dianalisis melalui analisis morfologi dan analisis stilistik. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa terdapat 311 nisan sebagai penanda 156 makam. Nisan-nisan tersebut terbagi kepada empat bentuk dasar yaitu pipih, silindris, persegi delapan dan persegi empat. Motif-motif yang digunakan adalah medallion, geometris, kuncup bunga teratai, perisai dan kaligrafi. Dengan demikian diketahui bahwa tipologi nisan di situs tersebut terdiri dari nisan Tipe Melayu berjumlah 299 nisan, tipe Demak-Troloyo berjumlah 6 nisan dan tipe Lokal berjumlah 6 nisan. Kata kunci : Tipologi, Nisan, Ragam Hias, Makam Engku Puteri Raja Hamidah This research aims to determine the typology of gravestones at the Engku Puteri Raja Hamidah Tomb Complex in Penyengat Island, Riau Islands. The gravestones at the site are scattered in large numbers and are thought to be closely related to the Lingga Sultanate. However, the gravestones have never been identified so their typology is unknown. To solve this problem, all gravestones at the site were observed in detail through an archaeological approach. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation and interviews. After the data were collected, they were analysed through morphological analysis and stylistic analysis. From the results of the research, it is known that there are 311 gravestones as markers of 156 tombs. The gravestones are divided into four basic forms, namely flat, cylindrical, octagonal and rectangular. The motive used are medallion, geometric, lotus bud, shield and calligraphy. Thus it is known that the typology of gravestones at the site consists of 299 Malay-type gravestones, 6 Demak-Troloyo-type gravestones and 6 Local-type gravestones.
