Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keanekaragaman jenis pohon meranti (Shorea spp.) di Hutan Adat Desa Baru Pangkalan Jambu Kabupaten Merangin. Meranti merupakan genus anggota famili Dipterocarpaceae berhabitus pohon dengan keanekaragaman jenis paling tinggi diantara pepohonan anggota Dipterocarpaceae lainnya. Genus Shorea memiliki fungsi ekonomi, ekologi, dan lingkungan yang signifikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sampling dan analisis vegetasi. Petak sampling berukuran 50 m x 50 m diletakkan pada ketinggian 300 mdpl, 400 mdpl, 500 mdpl, 600 mdpl, 700 mdpl dan 800 mdpl, masing-masing ketinggian terdapat 4 petak sampling. Jumlah petak sampling pada penelitian ini adalah 24 petak dengan total luas sampling 6 Ha. Selain itu, data lingkungan seperti suhu dan kelembapan udara diambil disetiap petak berukuran 50 m x 50 m. Pengamatan dilakukan selama 2 bulan terhitung dari bulan September - November 2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 4 jenis pohon meranti, yaitu Shorea ovalis (Korth) Blume, Rubroshorea leprosula (Miq.) P.S.Ashton & J.Heck., Shorea sp1. dan Shorea sp2. Jenis Rubroshorea leprosula (Miq.) P.S.Ashton & J.Heck. mendominasi jumlah individu dari tingkat tiang dan pohon.. Nilai Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) jenis meranti pada tingkat tiang dan pohon berdasarkan ketinggian dikategorikan rendah (H < 1). Nilai indeks kekayaan jenis meranti stadia tiang dan pohon menunjukkan bahwa sebaran keberagaman jenis meranti tergolong rendah (R < 3,5). Nilai Indeks Kemerataan di Hutan Adat Desa Baru Pangkalan Jambu juga tergolong rendah (E < 1). Kata Kunci: Hutan Adat Desa Baru, Shorea, Analisis Vegetasi ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the diversity of meranti tree species (Shorea spp.) in the Customary Forest of Baru Pangkalan Jambu Village, Merangin Regency. Meranti is a genus of members of the Dipterocarpaceae family with the highest species diversity among other Dipterocarpaceae members. The genus Shorea has significant economic, ecological and environmental functions. This research uses sampling methods and vegetation analysis. Sampling plots measuring 50 m x 50 m were placed at heights of 300 masl, 400 masl, 500 masl, 600 masl, 700 masl and 800 masl, at each height there were 4 sampling plots. The number of sampling plots in this study was 24 plots with a total sampling area of 6 Ha. Apart from that, environmental data such as temperature and humidity were taken in each plot measuring 50 m x 50 m. Observations were carried out for 2 months starting from September - November 2023. The research results showed that there were 4 types of meranti trees, namely Shorea ovalis (Korth) Blume, Rubroshorea leprosula (Miq.) P.S.Ashton & J.Heck., Shorea sp1. and Shorea sp2. Types of Rubroshorea leprosula (Miq.) P.S.Ashton & J.Heck. dominates the number of individuals at the pole and tree level. The Diversity Index (H') value of meranti species at the pole and tree level based on height is categorized as low (H < 1). The value of the meranti species richness index for the pole and tree stages shows that the distribution of meranti species diversity is relatively low (R < 3.5). The Evenness Index value in the Baru Pangkalan Jambu Village Customary Forest is also relatively low (E < 1). Keywords: New Village Traditional Forest, Shorea, Vegetation
