Abstract
Abstrak Latar Belakang. Indonesia beriklim tropis dengan paparan sinar UV tinggi yang berisiko menyebabkan kerusakan kulit. Minyak atsiri daun nilam (Pachouli oil) mengandung patchouli alcohol, senyawa antioksidan yang mampu melindungi kulit dari radikal bebas akibat UV. Teknologi nano dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan penetrasi dan stabilitas bahan aktif, sehingga menghasilkan nanoemulsi yang lebih efektif melindungi kulit dan efek fotoproteksi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji secara in vitro perlindungan matahari dari nanoemulsi minyak atsiri daun nilam. Metode. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu persiapan bahan, karakterisasi minyak atsiri daun nilam, membuat formulasi sediaan nanoemulsi, evaluasi sediaan nanoemulsi meliputi uji organoleptik, uji ukuran partikel, uji zeta potensial, uji pH, uji tipe emulsi, uji viskositas, uji stabilitas, uji transmitan dan uji nilai SPF secara In Vitro menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis dengan panjang gelombang 290-320 nm interval 5 nm. Hasil. Hasil uji SPF minyak atsiri daun nilam F1 (1,5%), F2 (2%) dan F3 (2,5%) sebesar 8,0246, 10,5232, 11,9682 termasuk kategori maksimal. Sedangkan nanoemulsi menunjukkan peningkatan nilai SPF yaitu F1, F2 dan F3 sebesar 26,1188, 27,0582, 28,0267 termasuk kategori ultra. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa teknologi nanoemulsi mampu meningkatkan efektivitas proteksi UV serta stabilitas yang lebih baik. Kesimpulan. Hasil uji SPF menunjukkan minyak atsiri daun nilam memiliki perlindungan UV kategori maksimal. Teknologi nanoemulsi secara signifikan meningkatkan nilai SPF, dengan kategori ultra. Hal ini menunjukkan nanoemulsi mampu meningkatkan efektivitas proteksi UV. Konsentrasi minyak nilam tiap formula memberikan pengaruh terhadap nilai SPF, dimana nilai tertinggi pada F3. Indonesia has a tropical climate with high UV exposure that can cause skin damage. Patchouli leaf essential oil (Pachouli oil) contains patchouli alcohol, an antioxidant compound that can protect the skin from free radicals caused by UV. Nanotechnology is used to increase the penetration and stability of active ingredients, resulting in a nanoemulsion that is more effective in protecting the skin and photoprotection effects. The study aims to test in vitro the sun protection of patchouli leaf essential oil nanoemulsion. Method. This study was conducted through several stages, namely material preparation, patchouli leaf essential oil characterization, making nanoemulsion preparation formulations, evaluation of nanoemulsion preparations including organoleptic tests, particle size tests, zeta potential tests, pH tests, emulsion type tests, viscosity tests, stability tests, transmittance tests and SPF value tests In Vitro using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 290-320 nm with a 5 nm interval. Results. The results of the SPF test of patchouli leaf essential oil F1 (1.5%), F2 (2%) and F3 (2.5%) were 8.0246, 10.5232, 11.9682, including the maximum category. While nanoemulsion showed an increase in SPF values, namely F1, F2 and F3 of 26.1188, 27.0582, 28.0267, including the ultra category. The results show that nanoemulsion technology is able to increase the effectiveness of UV protection and better stability. Conclusion. The results of the SPF test show that patchouli leaf essential oil has maximum UV protection. Nanoemulsion technology significantly increases the SPF value, with the ultra category. This shows that nanoemulsion is able to increase the effectiveness of UV protection. The concentration of patchouli oil in each formula affects the SPF value, where the highest value is in F3.
