Abstract

This study aims to analyze the voting behavior of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) members toward Islamic parties in the legislative elections in Sungai Bahar Subsdistrict, Muaro JambiRegency, in 2024. The research adops a quantiatif method with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The finding reveal that NU voters behavior is influenced by several key factors, including loyality to religious organizations, perceptions of Islamic parties, the influence of local religious leaders, and strategic issues emerging during the election period. Most respondents tend to vote for Islamic parties that align with NU values and interests. However, there is also a segment of voters who prioritixe the parties progams over religious affiliation. The study also highlights the significant role of kiai (religious scholars) and NU administrastors in shapping votters political preferences. Furthermore, social media has become a rucial information channel, espevially for the younger NU generation in the research area. These findings have implications for Islamic parties in designing more effective campaign strategies by addressing the aspirations and needs NU voters.
