Abstract

Candi Lesung Batu terletak di Kecamatan Rawas Ulu, Kabupaten Musi Rawas Utara, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan, memiliki nilai penting bagi kepentingan akademis dan idiologis berdasrkan tingalan arkeologis yang terkandung didalamnya. Pada situs ini telah ditemukan sruktur bata, temuan yoni, sruktur batu tuff, fragmen keramik dan juga tembikar. Namun upaya pelindungan yang dilakukan teradap Candi ini belum efektif dilakukan, terlihat dari kerusakan material Candi dan juga pencurian fasilitas didalamnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah observasi, studi pustaka dan wawancara. Hasilnya menunjukan upaya pelindungan yang dilakukan belum efektif dilakukan dan belum dapat dilakukan secara menyeluruh. Solusi atas permasalahan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan cara pembersihan secara rutin terhadap material candi dan melakukan sosialisai kepada masyarakat sekitar mengenai pentingnya melestarikan dan menjaga cagar budaya. selanjutnya untuk kedepanya perlu dilakukan pengkajian dan rekomendasi penetapan status Cagar Budaya terhadap Candi Lesung Batu agar upaya pelindungan dapat dilakukan secara efektif dan menyeluruh. Kata kunci: Candi: Candi Lesung Batu, Pelindungan, Cagar Budaya Lesung Batu Temple is located in Rawas Ulu District, North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province, has important value for academic and ideological interests based on the archaeological remains contained therein. On this site, brick structures, yoni findings, tufa stone structures, ceramic fragments and pottery have been found. However, the protection efforts made against this temple have not been effective, as seen from the damage to the temple materials and the theft of facilities inside. The research methods used in this study were observation, literature studies and interviews. The results showed that the protection efforts made have not been effective and have not been carried out comprehensively. The solution to this problem can be done by routinely cleaning the temple materials and conducting socialization to the surrounding community regarding the importance of preserving and maintaining cultural heritage. Furthermore, in the future, it is necessary to conduct a study and recommendations for determining the Cultural Heritage status of Lesung Batu Temple so that protection efforts can be carried out effectively and comprehensively.
