Abstract
Kata kunci : Hutan, Inventarisasi Jenis Pohon, HHBK ABSTRACT Forests are ecosystems in which there is a relationship between flora and fauna and organisms that are interrelated and cannot be separated. Where forests have direct benefits in the form of Timber Forest Products (HHK) and Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs), and indirectly such as environmental services and as oxygen producers and function as habitats for flora and fauna and water cycle regulators (Almulqu and Renoat, 2021). Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) are defined as raw materials and services produced by a forest except for wood. The forms of NFP products include fruits, medicinal plants, sap/resin, and various plant skins and fibers such as bamboo, rattan (CIFOR, 2015). The purpose of the inventory research of tree species producing NTFPs is to analyze the types of trees producing NTFPs in the Customary Forest of Baru Pangkalan Jambu Village, Merangin Regency. The study was conducted for 3 months in the customary forest area of the new village of Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The method used was a double plot method in the form of a square measuring 50 m × 50 m, with four plots at each altitude. The plots were placed systematically with a distance between plots of 100 m, while the first quadrant at each altitude was selected purposively based on the presence of NTFP trees in the secondary forest. All tree data found in the sampling plots were collected and made into herbariums for identification purposes. The tree species identification process was carried out at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The identification results were then analyzed to determine whether the species were classified as NTFP producers, by referring to various scientific literature, such as Nursanti et al. (2018), de Boer and Cotingting (2014), and Rahayu et al. (2007). The results of the study in the Baru Village Customary Forest found 50 tree species, of which 43 species from 22 families have the potential to produce NTFPs, based on BRIN identification and literature. One of the species found, Vatica teysmanniana (Medang Pauh), is included in the Endangered (EN) category according to the IUCN. Based on interviews with informants, 13 species from 10 families are known and utilized by indigenous peoples, with the parts utilized including sap, fruit, leaves, and roots—such as Eurycoma longifolia (Pasak Bumi). In addition, the Elateriospermum tapos (Tapus) species found in this area is known to have compounds that have the potential to inhibit the HIV-1 virus.
