Abstract

Prostitution is still a serious problem that requires government attention because of its impacts such as the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, disturbance of order, and a bad image of the city. The Jambi City Government has issued Local Regulation No. 2 of 2014 to eradicate prostitution and close the localization in Payo Sigadung. However, the practice of prostitution is still ongoing. Therefore, the implementation of the Pamong Praja Police Unit strategy in controlling the prostitution area in Payo Sigadung, Jambi City is very important. This study aims to see how the implementation of the Pamong Praja Police Unit strategy in controlling the prostitution area in Payo Sigadung, Jambi City and what are the success and inhibiting factors. The research method used is qualitative with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. This study shows that the implementation of the strategy to curb prostitution in the Payo Sigadung area carried out by the Civil Service Police Unit has not run optimally, because the focus of strategy implementation is only limited to supervision and enforcement, although the Civil Service Police Unit has carried out various curbing efforts, obstacles such as lack of community support and limited resources are still obstacles in implementing the strategy, coupled with the absence of solutions from the government. This research is expected to contribute ideas in the field of Government Science and become a reference. Keywords: Control, Prostitution, Strategy Implementation
