Abstract

Ultisol merupakan salah satu jenis tanah di Indonesia yang mempunyai sebaran luas, mencapai 45.794.000 Ha atau sekitar 25% dari total tanah. Beberapa kendala yang umum pada tanah Ultisol adalah kemasaman tanah tinggi, pH rata-rata < 4,50, kejenuhan Al tinggi, miskin kandungan hara makro terutama P, K, Ca, dan Mg serta kandungan bahan organik rendah. Berbagai kendala tersebut dapat diatasi salah satunya dengan cara pemberian bahan organik seperti kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh aplikasi kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi terhadap beberapa sifat kimia Ultisol seperti C-Organik, N-Total, dan pH tanah serta pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kedelai. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan sehingga terdapat 24 petak percobaan. Ukuran petakan 2 m x 2 m dengan jarak tanam 40 cm x 25 cm sehingga didapatkan 40 tanaman dalam satu petak. Adapun perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah P0 (tanpa kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi) , P1 (8 ton/ha kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi), P2 (11 ton/ha kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi), P3 (14 ton/ha kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi), P4 (17 ton/ha kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi), P5 (20 ton/ha kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi). Parameter yang diamati adalah pH, C-Organik, N- Total, tinggi tanaman, dan hasil tanaman kedelai. Data analisis ragam pada taraf kepercayaan 95% selanjutnya uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengaplikasian kompos campuran paitan dan kotoran sapi dosis 17 ton/ha, mampu meningkatkan C-Organik, N-Total dan pH pada tanah Ultisol. Perlakuan ini juga berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman dan hasil tanaman kedelai (ton/ha). Ultisol is one type of soil in Indonesia that has a wide distribution, reaching 45,794,000 Ha or around 25% of the total land. Some common constraints on Ultisol soil are high soil acidity, average pH <4.50, high Al saturation, poor macronutrient content especially P, K, Ca, and Mg and low organic matter content. These various constraints can be overcome, one of which is by providing organic materials such as a mixture of Tithonia compost and cow manure. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi. The research was carried out for ± 6 months starting from July 2024 - January 2025. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the application of a mixture of Tithonia compost and cow manure on several chemical properties of Ultisol such as C-Organic, N-Total, and soil pH as well as the growth and yield of soybean plants. The research was conducted using a Randomized Block Design with 6 treatments and 4 replications so that there were 24 experimental plots. The plot size is 2 m x 2 m with a planting distance of 40 cm x 25 cm so that 40 plants are obtained in one plot. The treatments used in this study were P0 (without mixed compost of Tithonia and cow manure), P1 (8 tons/ha of mixed compost of Tithonia and cow manure), P2 (11 tons/ha of mixed compost of Tithonia and cow manure), P3 (14 tons/ha of mixed compost of Tithonia and cow manure), P4 (17 tons/ha of mixed compost of Tithonia and cow manure), P5 (20 tons/ha of mixed compost of Tithonia and cow manure). The parameters observed were pH, C-Organic, N-Total, plant height, and soybean yield. Data analysis of variance at a confidence level of 95% then DMRT test (Duncan Multiple Range Test). The results of this study indicate that the application of mixed compost of Tithonia and cow manure at a dose of 17 tons/ha, can increase C-Organic, N-Total and pH in Ultisol soil. This treatment also had a significant effect on plant height and soybean yield (tons/ha).
