Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of Memrise in enriching junior high school students’ vocabulary in Merangin and to identify the level of students’ attitudes and motivation towards the use of Memrise. This research used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. A total of 20 students were selected from one class through purposive sampling. Data were collected using vocabulary tests and a questionnaire to assess students’ attitudes and motivation. The research results showed that Memrise is effective in enriching students’ vocabulary, as indicated by a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the students demonstrated highly positive responses regarding their experience using Memrise, both in terms of attitude and motivation.
