Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi program ekstrakurikuler dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa Arab siswa di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Kinanah Kota Jambi, serta mengidentifikasi kendala yang dihadapi selama pelaksanaan program tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa dan guru yang terlibat dalam program Muhadharah dan Muhadatsah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program Muhadharah memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berbicara di depan umum, keberanian siswa, serta struktur penyampaian bahasa Arab yang lebih baik. Sementara itu, program Muhadatsah melatih siswa dalam percakapan sehari-hari secara kontekstual dan kolaboratif, sehingga mendukung penguasaan kosakata dan kelancaran berbicara. Evaluasi program dilakukan secara berkala melalui kegiatan seperti “Pidato Akbar” dan umpan balik informal. Namun, pelaksanaan program ini juga menghadapi sejumlah kendala, seperti rendahnya penguasaan tata bahasa Arab, kesulitan menghafal kosakata, manajemen waktu yang belum optimal, serta rasa malu dan kurang percaya diri di kalangan siswa. Meski demikian, program ekstrakurikuler ini secara umum dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab siswa di MTs Al-Kinanah. This study aims to examine the implementation of extracurricular programs in enhancing students' Arabic language skills at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Kinanah in Jambi City, as well as to identify the challenges encountered during the program's execution. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with the research subjects consisting of students and teachers involved in the Muhadharah and Muhadatsah programs. The findings reveal that the Muhadharah program contributes positively to the development of public speaking skills, student confidence, and the structural delivery of Arabic language. Meanwhile, the Muhadatsah program trains students in contextual and collaborative daily conversations, thereby supporting vocabulary acquisition and fluency in speaking. The program is regularly evaluated through activities such as “Pidato Akbar” (Grand Speech) and informal feedback sessions. However, several obstacles were identified in the implementation process, including limited mastery of Arabic grammar, difficulties in memorizing vocabulary, suboptimal time management, as well as students’ shyness and lack of self-confidence. Despite these challenges, the extracurricular programs are generally considered effective in improving students’ Arabic speaking skills at MTs Al-Kinanah.
