Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Remaja merupakan kelompok usia yang rentan terhadap penularan HIV/AIDS karena minimnya pengetahuan serta tingginya rasa ingin tahu terhadap hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan seksual. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja mengenai pencegahan HIV/AIDS adalah melalui edukasi seksual dengan metode pembelajaran yang menarik, salah satunya metode crossword puzzle. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi experiment dan rancangan pretest-posttest with control group design. Sampel berjumlah 88 responden yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu 44 responden pada kelompok intervensi dengan metode crossword puzzle dan 44 responden pada kelompok kontrol dengan ceramah interaktif. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner pengetahuan yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor pengetahuan pada kelompok intervensi meningkat dari 38,700 menjadi 88,068 sedangkan kelompok kontrol meningkat dari 50,964 menjadi 77,664. Uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok dengan nilai p = 0,000, yang berarti metode crossword puzzle efektif dibandingkan metode ceramah interaktif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang pencegahan HIV/AIDS. Kesimpulan: Edukasi seksual dengan metode crossword puzzle efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja mengenai pencegahan HIV/AIDS, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif metode edukasi seksual yang menyenangkan dan interaktif di lingkungan sekolah. One of the efforts to increase adolescents' knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention is through sexual education with interesting learning methods, one of which is the crossword puzzle method. Methods: This study used a quantitative design with a quasi experiment approach and a pretest-posttest with control group design. The sample amounted to 88 respondents who were divided into two groups, namely 44 respondents in the intervention group with the crossword puzzle method and 44 respondents in the control group with interactive lectures. The research instrument is in the form of a knowledge questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The results showed that the average knowledge score in the intervention group increased from 38,700 to 88,068, while the control group increased from 50,964 to 77,664. The Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference between the two groups with a value of p = 0.000, which means that the crossword puzzle method is effective compared to the interactive lecture method in increasing students' knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention. Conclusion: Sexual education with the crossword puzzle method is effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention, so that it can be used as an alternative to fun and interactive sexual education methods in the school environment.
