Abstract

Grammar competence is an important component of English language education, but it remains a challenge for many junior high school students. The lack of varied learning media often leads to low student interest and limited understanding of grammar material. This study aims to find out whether Quizizz has significant effect on the grammar competence of seventh graders during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, involving two classes: the experimental class used Quizizz integrated with PowerPoint as the reinforcement, while the control class used conventional reinforcement methods. The grammar topics taught included there is/there are, positive imperatives, and prepositions of place. A total of 40 students participated, and data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, then analyzed using SPSS version 22. The results showed no statistically significant difference in grammar competence between the experimental and control groups based on post-test scores (Sig. 0.081 > 0.05), indicating that the use of Quizizz did not have a significant effect on students’ grammar competence.
