Abstract

INRI YANI BR SEMBIRING. Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Impor Tembakau Indonesia. Dibimbing oleh Prof. Dr. Ir. Zulkifli Alamsyah, M.Sc selaku pembimbing I dan Yulismi, S.P., M.Si. selaku pembimbing II. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mendeskripsikan perkembangan volume impor tembakau Indonesia, produksi tembakau dalam negeri, produk domestik bruto (PDB), harga tembakau internasional, dan nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar Amerika Serikat; dan 2) Menganalisis pengaruh keempat variabel tersebut terhadap volume impor tembakau Indonesia selama periode tahun 1993–2022. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder berupa data tahunan dari tahun 1993 hingga 2022, yang diperoleh dari United Nations Commodity Trade (UN Comtrade), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Bank, dan Direktorat Jenderal Perkebunan. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif untuk melihat perkembangan masing masing variabel, dan analisis inferensial menggunakan model Cobb-Douglas yang ditransformasikan ke dalam bentuk logaritma natural (log-log) dan diestimasi dengan metode Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), untuk mengetahui pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap volume impor tembakau Indonesia.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan volume impor tembakau Indonesia, produksi tembakau dalam negeri, PDB per kapita, harga tembakau internasional, dan nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar Amerika Serikat bersifat fluktuatif selama tahun 1993–2022. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi log-log Cobb-Douglas, diperoleh bahwa secara simultan, keempat variabel bebas berpengaruh signifikan terhadap volume impor tembakau Indonesia. Secara parsial, PDB per kapita dan nilai tukar rupiah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap volume impor, sementara harga tembakau internasional berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan. Produksi tembakau dalam negeri menunjukkan pengaruh positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap volume impor tembakau Indonesia. This study aims to: (1) describe the development of Indonesia’s tobacco import volume, domestic tobacco production, gross domestic product (GDP), international tobacco prices, and the exchange rate of the Indonesian rupiah against the United States dollar; and (2) analyze the effects of these four variables on Indonesia’s tobacco import volume during the period 1993–2022. The data used are secondary annual data from 1993 to 2022, obtained from the United Nations Commodity Trade (UN Comtrade), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Bank, and the Directorate General of Plantations. The analytical methods employed include descriptive analysis to examine the development of each variable, and inferential analysis using the Cobb–Douglas model transformed into a natural logarithm (log–log) form, estimated through the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method, to determine the effects of the independent variables on Indonesia’s tobacco import volume. The results show that the development of Indonesia’s tobacco import volume, domestic tobacco production, GDP per capita, international tobacco prices, and the rupiah–US dollar exchange rate fluctuated during the period 1993–2022. Based on the log–log Cobb–Douglas regression analysis, it was found that, simultaneously, the four independent variables significantly affected Indonesia’s tobacco import volume. Partially, GDP per capita and the exchange rate had a positive and significant effect on import volume, while international tobacco prices had a negative and significant effect. Domestic tobacco production had a positive but statistically insignificant effect on Indonesia’s tobacco import volume.
