Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Jambi University. In Academic Year 2019/2020. The First Supervisor is Susanah S.Pd., M.Sc. and the Second Supervisor is Drs.Ahmad Ridha,M.A. Keywords: Need Analysis, English, Vocational High School students, Broadcaster Program. The objectives of this research were: (1) to Identify the English needs of students of Broadcasting study program, (2) to identify the topics materials that teacher use in teaching English for students of broadcasting program. (3) to analyze whether the topics materials and English lessons accommodate the student needs. This study adapted the research procedure proposed by Basturkmen, H. (1998) and Ounis, S. (2005), then it was combined with the model of research procedure proposed by this study adapted the research procedure proposed by Thiagarajan (1974). The study was a Survey study. The procedure of the study was conducting the needs analysis. The instruments to collect the data were the needs analysis questionnaire and the interview. The data from the needs analysis were analyzing quantitative using frequency and percentage and the qualitative data obtained the interview. The sample of the study consisted of 67 students. There were in grade ten and twelve students of broadcaster program at SMK Negeri 2 Jambi. The results of the study show that students need English lessons related to the broadcast area and their level. Students also need a new innovations from teaching as well as ways of evaluating teachers in schools. then, the material given to students is also more related to broadcasting.
