Abstract
ABSTRACT Purple eggplant is a horticultural commodity with high economic value as a nutritious food because it contains carbohydrates and iron, as well as many vitamins such as vitamins A, B, and C (Nazari et al., 2023). Eggplant production and productivity in Jambi Province in 2019-2022 were still relatively low compared to 2023 (Directorate General of Horticultural Crops, 2023). Increasing eggplant production is a necessity to achieve maximum production results, attention to cultivation technology, processing methods, and plant maintenance methods is very important. Optimal eggplant production is influenced by the availability of nutrients in the soil, so organic fertilizer and eco-enzyme are factors in increasing growth and yield (Ekawandani and Aini, 2018). This study aims to determine the effect of organic fertilizer and eco-enzyme concentration on eggplant growth and yield, as well as to obtain the best dosage of organic fertilizer and eco-enzyme concentration that can increase eggplant growth and yield. This research was conducted at the Teaching Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University in March-May 2025. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a 4x3 factorial pattern: doses of various types of organic fertilizer (P) and concentration of eco enzyme E. Each experimental unit measured 2 x 1.8 m with a planting distance of 70 x 60 cm, consisting of 12 treatments and 3 replications, a total of 36 experimental units. The observed variables were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits, fruit diameter, fruit length, fruit weight, weight per fruit, and potential yield per hectare. The results of the study showed that the best combination that provided optimal growth and yield was obtained in the treatment of chicken manure fertilizer 20 tons/ha with eco enzyme concentration of 0.15%, which was able to increase plant height up to 32.33 cm and the number of fruits up to 7.67 fruits per plant. However, other variables such as flowering age, harvest age, fruit diameter, fruit length, fruit weight, weight per fruit, and potential yield per hectare only showed a significant effect on the single treatment of organic fertilizer, but did not show any interaction with eco enzyme. ________________________________________ Keywords: Eggplant Plants, Eco Enzyme, Types of Organic Fertilizers ABSTRAK Terong ungu merupakan salah satu komoditas hortikultura yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi sebagai bahan pangan bergizi karena mengandung karbohidrat dan zat besi, serta banyak vitamin seperti vitamin A, B dan C (Nazari et al., 2023). Produksi dan produktivitas tanaman terong di Provinsi Jambi pada tahun 2019-2022 masih tergolong rendah dibandingkan tahun 2023 (Direktorat Jendral Tanaman Hortikultura, 2023). Peningkatan produksi terong menjadi suatu keharusan untuk mencapai hasil produksi yang maksimal, perhatian terhadap teknologi budidaya, metode pengolahan dan cara pemeliharaan tanaman sangatlah penting. Produksi terong yang optimal dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan unsur hara dalam tanah, sehingga pupuk organik dan eco enzyme menjadi faktor dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan serta hasil panen (Ekawandani dan Aini, 2018). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik dan konsentrasi eco enzyme terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terong, serta untuk mendapatkan dosis terbaik dari pupuk organik dan konsentrasi eco enzyme yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terong. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Teaching Research Farm Fakultas Pertanian Univertas Jambi pada bulan Maret-Mei 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan pola faktorial 4x3: dosis berbagai jenis pupuk organik (P) dan konsentrasi eco enzyme E. Setiap unit percobaan berukuran 2 x 1,8 m dengan jarak tanam 70 x 60 cm, terdiri dari 12 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan, total 36 unit percobaan. Variabel pengamatan yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, umur berbunga, umur panen, jumlah buah, diameter buah, panjang buah, bobot buah, bobot per buah, dan potensi hasil per hektar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi terbaik yang memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil optimal diperoleh pada perlakuan pupuk kotoran ayam 20 ton/ha dengan eco enzyme konsentrasi 0,15%, yang mampu meningkatkan tinggi tanaman hingga 32,33 cm dan jumlah buah hingga 7,67 buah per tanaman. Namun,variabel lainnya seperti umur berbunga, umur panen, diameter buah, panjang buah, bobot buah, bobot per buah, dan potensi hasil per hektar hanya menunjukkan pengaruh nyata terhadap perlakuan tunggal pupuk organik, tetapi tidak menunjukkan interaksi dengan eco enzyme.________________________________________ Kata kunci: Tanaman Terong, Eco Enzyme, Jenis Pupuk Organik
