Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang media edukasi berbasis koleksi uang kertas di museum siginjei sebagai upaya meningkatkan fungsi edukatif Museum. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi deskriptif, melalui observasi langsung, dokumentasi,. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koleksi uang kertas di Museum Siginjei memiliki potensi besar sebagai sumber pembelajaran sejarah. Sebagai wujud penerapan konsep new museology, penelitian ini menghasilkan rancangan media edukasi berupa lembar aktivitas (activity sheet) yang mengintegrasikan visual, teks sejarah, dan soal interaktif. Media ini diharapkan dapat membantu pengunjung, terutama pelajar, dalam memahami nilai sejarah uang kertas serta memperkuat peran museum sebagai sarana pendidikan publik. This study aims to design educational media based on the paper money collection at the Siginjei Museum as an effort to enhance the museum’s educational function. The research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive study method through direct observation and documentation. The findings show that the paper money collection at the Siginjei Museum holds great potential as a source of historical learning. As a form of implementing the new museology concept, this research produced an educational media design in the form of activity sheets that integrate visuals, historical texts, and interactive questions. This media is expected to help visitors—especially students—understand the historical value of paper currency and strengthen the role of the museum as a public educational space.
