Abstract
Analisis regresi linear sederhana meenunjukkan nilai R2 = 0,1459 termasuk kedalam korelasi sangat lemah. Mangrove ecosystems grow at river mouths, tidal areas, or coastal areas. Mangrove ecosystems function as nurseries, feeding grounds, and spawning grounds for various types of aquatic animals such as fish, crustaceans, mollusks, bivalves, gastropods, and others. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mangrove density and gastropod density. This study was conducted in the Kelapa Beach Mangrove Tourism Area, Tungkal Satu Village, Parit 9, Tungkal Ilir District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi Province, from February 1 to March 1, 2025. The method used in this study was a survey and data collection using the LIT (line intercept transect) method at 3 stations with plot sizes of 10 x 10 m, taking mangrove samples in the form of leaves and mangrove fruits as well as gastropod samples. The variables observed in this study were the relationship between mangrove density and gastropod density, consisting of mangrove density, mangrove species, mangrove species composition, gastropod density, and gastropod species. Based on the research results, four mangrove species were found, namely Sonneratia alba, Rhizopora mucronata, Avicennia alba, and Nypa fruticans. The mangrove density ranged from 733.333 ind/ha to 1,266.666 ind/ha, with the highest mangrove composition occupied by the species Rhizopora mucronata with a value of 52%. Ten species of gastropods were identified, with the highest gastropod density found at station 3 with a value of 11,233.33 ind/ha. The species diversity index (H’) ranged from 1.72 to 1.88, which falls into the moderate category. The evenness index (E) ranged from 0.78 to 0.85, which falls into the high category. The dominance index (C) ranged from 0.17 to 0.21, which falls into the low category. Simple linear regression analysis showed an R² value of 0.1459,which falls into the very weak correlation category. It is concluded that the coastal mangrove ecosystem in Kelapa is in a stable condition. Mangrove density does not significantly influence gastropod density.
