This research was conducted in grade IV SD 121/1 Muara Singoan. The research data is obtained by conducting interviews, observations, and tests. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which will discuss how teachers improve their ability to identify intrinsic short stories using the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) model in grade IV of elementary school. The Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) model is appropriately applied to Indonesian language subjects specifically in reading material, finding ideas on certain points of thought and the theme of a discourse or kliping. Teachers and students make conclusions about the results of the discus. The results of the study show that the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) model can improve the ability to identify intrinsic short stories. Can be seen from the results in the first cycle of classical completeness obtained only by 46%. the first cycle has not met the target to be achieved with the target of classical completeness of 70%. In the second cycle the classical completeness obtained was 83%. In this second cycle the results obtained have met the criteria of success. This study consists of two cycles, and each cycle consists of two meetings. In each meeting there will be four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.
