Abstract

This study is aims to describe Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic learning styles (VAK) and their tendency for students who have academic achievement. The subjects of this study were students with academic achievements in grade IV of 13 / I Muara Bulian Public Elementary School. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data collection is carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies. Data analysis in this study uses data analysis techniques Miles and Huberman. The data analysis technique is done by collecting, reducing, displaying, and drawing conclusions. The researcher uses credibility, depenability, and confirmability tests to obtain data validity. The results showed that the learning styles of fourth grade academic achievement students at Muara Bulian Public Elementary School 13 / I were a combination of VAK learning styles. The composition and tendency of learning styles of academic achievement students is different. Of the three students who were the subjects of the study, two children had a tendency to Visual learning styles and one child Auditory learning style. From the results of this study it is recommended that teachers can use the VAK learning method so that teachers provide basic services of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles so that students can understand the characteristics of their learning styles so they can optimize the learning styles used and develop a combination of learning styles.
