Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence poverty levels in 11 districts/cities in Jambi Province during the period 2015–2024. The independent variables studied include the Human Development Index (HDI), District/City Minimum Wage (UMK), Local Government Capital Expenditure, and Population. The data used is secondary panel data obtained from the Jambi Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and related agencies. The analysis method applied is panel data regression with the Hausman test, followed by the F test, t test, and coefficient of determination. The results show that all four variables simultaneously have a significant effect on poverty levels. Partially, an increase in HDI and capital expenditure has been proven to reduce poverty levels, while population growth tends to increase poverty. The effect of minimum wage varies between regions and is not always significant. These findings emphasize the importance of human development policies, targeted capital expenditure management, and population growth control to reduce poverty rates in Jambi Province.
