Abstract

This research aimed to develop e-flashcards that suitable for students and to know the validity of it as supplementary material for learning key terms in Second Language Acquisition. The site of this research was at Jambi University. The subjects for this research were the semester 5th students who have passed Second Language Acquisition class. There were 3 classes and from 88 students 86 students who were willing to be the participants in need analysis. ADDIE Model was used for this study. This study started from Analysis, Design, Development, and terminated until Implementation. The instruments used in this research were questionnaires (for need analysis, validation sheet & assessment sheet) and interview guide. This research involved two validators, which were media validator and content validator. The result of this showed that 1) the stages of this development started from analysis phase which was analyzed the students’ need through questionnaire and textbook analysis, then designing the product based on analysis phase, developing the product step-by-step, and implementing the e-flashcards to the small group students. 2) This e-flashcards had validated by validators and the result showed the content validator scored the content 87% and 90% for the usability. Then, the media validator scored the size 80% and usability 80%, then for cover & instruction scored 90% and for content design scored 93%. The e-flashcards had implemented and this section had two steps such as students’ assessment and interview in order to give the feedback for the product. The result from assessment and interview showed that the media valid to be used as supplementary learning media. This media can be an alternative for students to do self-learning in term of second language acquisition key terms. This research was done until implementation phase. Therefore, for other researcher who interest to find the effectiveness of this flashcard can conduct the evaluation of this media. The result of this research can be used as one of the reference for students, lectures, or further researcher.
