Abstract
ABSTRACT Hadi Husnaini, 2021. English Teachers’ Perception About Teaching and Learning Activity at Home During Pandemic Covid 19 (Study of Senior High School English Teacher at Jambi City). Thesis. English Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Universitas Jambi in Academic Year 2021/2022.. This research dealt with the interview on how Englih Teachers’ Perception About Teaching and Learning Activity at Home During Pandemic Covid 19. The study is aimed to describe the English teachers’ perception about teaching and learning activity at home during Pandemic Covid 19 at MA Nurul Falah. The formulated research question of this study was: How is the English teachers’ perception about teaching and learning activity at home during Pandemic Covid 19 at MA Nurul Falah. This research employed qualitative research. The participants of this study were some English teachers in MA Nurul Falah.. Data collected through interview. The result of the study showed that the perception of English teachers at MA Nurul Falah regarding teaching and learning activities during online learning is as follows: (1) they perceived that in the implementation of online learning, lesson plans must be prepared as a supporting tool for teachers in teaching, then the application of learning at MA Nurul Falah has been running according to applicable policies, namely by reducing lesson hours, condensing the material and giving assignments that do not burden students, (2) English teachers' perceptions of the material taught at MA Nurul Falah during learning online has followed the curriculum that applies to the pandemic and also the material has been compressed to save time, (3) the assessment for MA Nurul Falah students had not changed, namely daily assessments, daily tests, mid-semester, and end of the semester. However, the number of questions is reduced from before the online period. (4) Problems encountered by English teachers when teaching include lazy students, slow networks, and the availability of quotas for students. (5) The positive impact of online learning was that students were more independent and creative and teachers become technology, while the negative impact was that students were lazy to read and prefer to use google.
