Abstract
This thesis discusses the head's leadership strategy in developing the religious character of students at SMKN 1 Tembilahan Hulu. This study aims to: (a) Describe the inhibiting and supporting factors of the principal's leadership strategy in developing the religious character of students through extracurricular activities at SMK Negeri 1 Tembilahan Hulu. (b) Describe how extracurricular activities are implemented as an effort to develop the religious character of students at SMK Negeri 1 Tembilahan Hulu. (c) Describe the values of the religious character developed in extracurricular activities at SMK Negeri 1 Tembilahan Hulu. (d) Describe the principal's leadership strategy in developing the religious character of students through extracurricular activities at SMK Negeri 1 Tembilahan Hulu. This type of research is field research in the form of descriptive research. Data sources were obtained from the Principal, Deputy Head of School Bid. Student Affairs, Islamic Religious Education and Moral Education Subject Teachers, Counseling Guidance Teachers (BK), and ROHIS extracurricular coaches. The data collection method was chosen in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. The triangulation used is in the form of triangulation of different data sources using the same technique. The results of the study obtained: (1) The principal's leadership strategy in developing the religious character of students is implemented through extracurricular activities, there are two (a) habituation strategies and (b) exemplary strategies. (2) Religious character values that are developed are in the form of religious character education values, in the form of values of love for the Creator, time discipline, social care, self-awareness, honesty, trustworthiness and responsibility. (3) Implementation in the form of students' constancy in worship such as carrying out midday and asr prayers in congregation, discipline, reading surah yasin with tartil and correct tajwid through routine yasinan activities, tawadlu' or humility, students have a sense of awareness and responsibility responsibility, embedded honesty and social life in students. (4) Supporting factors in the form of the completeness of school facilities and infrastructure, and inhibiting factors in the form that there are still some students who do not like to take spiritual activities seriously, environmental factors and the diverse backgrounds of students.
