Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Scabies or scabies is an infectious skin disease caused by investment and sensitization of the parasite Sarcoptes Scabiei of the Hominis variety. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that scabies is a very neglected skin disease. It is estimated that 200 million people worldwide suffer from scabies at any one time. The Muara Kumpeh Inpatient UPTD Health Center, located in Muaro Jambi Regency, has the highest incidence of scabies, recorded throughout 2022 there were 112 cases. Based on these data, scabies is experienced by many students or students, one of whom is a student at the Jauharul Falah Islamic Boarding School. This study aims to determine the effect of health education about personal hygiene in adolescents on the prevention of scabies at the Jauharul Falah Islamic Boarding School, Sungai Terap. Methods: This study used a quantitative method with pre-experimental designs with the "One Group Pre-Test-Post-Test Design". This research was conducted at the Jauharul Falah Islamic Boarding School in Sungai Terap, Muaro Kumpeh. from September 2022-May 2023. The time for data collection was carried out in June 2023. The population in this study were all class VII students of the Jauharul Falah Islamic Boarding School Sungai Terap, totaling 213 people. The sample is 30 respondents. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. The statistical test used is the paired sample t test. Results: The results of the study found that the average prevention of scabies in adolescents before being given health education about personal hygiene was 45.90 (out of a total score of 88). After being given health education about personal hygiene was 80.87. There is a significant effect of health education about personal hygiene in adolescents on scabies prevention behavior at the Jauharul Falah Islamic Boarding School Sungai Terap (p-value: 0.000 <0.05). Conclusion: The average difference in the prevention of scabies in adolescents before and after being given health education about personal hygiene is 34.96. It is hoped that the UPTD Inpatient Health Center at Muara Kumpeh Health Center can work together with the Jauharul Falah Islamic Boarding School Sungai Terap to educate teenagers (Santriwan and Santriwati) to always pay attention to personal hygiene, not to borrow clothes from friends so that the incidence of scabies at the Jauharul Falah Islamic Boarding School Sungai Terap can minimized. Keywords: Health Education, Personal Hygiene, Adolescents, Scabies Prevention ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Scabies atau penyakit kudis merupakan penyakit kulit menular yang disebabkan oleh investasi dan sensitisasi parasit Sarcoptes Scabiei Varietas Hominis. World Health Organization (WHO) menyatakan bahwa penyakit scabies ini merupakan penyakit kulit yang sangat terabaikan. Diperkirakan 200 juta orang di seluruh dunia menderita kudis pada satu waktu. Puskesmas UPTD Rawat Inap Muara Kumpeh yang terletak di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi memiliki angka kejadian scabies yang paling tinggi, tercatat selama sepanjang tahun 2022 ini ada 112 kasus. Berdasarkan data tersebut penyakit scabies banyak dialami oleh pelajar atau santri, yang salah satunya merupakan santri Pondok Pesantren Jauharul Falah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan tentang personal hygiene pada remaja terhadap pencegahan penyakit scabies di Pondok Pesantren Jauharul Falah Sungai Terap. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimen (pre experimental designs) dengan rancangan “One Group Pre-Tes-Post-Tes Design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren Jauharul Falah di Sungai Terap, Muaro Kumpeh. dari September 2022-Mei 2023. Waktu pengambilan data dilaksanakan pada Bulan Juni 2023. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua Santri kelas VII Pondok Pesantren Jauharul Falah Sungai Terap sejumlah 213 orang. Sampel berjumlah 30 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah simple random sampling. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji paired sample t test. Hasil : Hasil penelitan didapatkan bahwa rata-rata pencegahan penyakit scabies pada remaja sebelum diberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang personal hygiene adalah 45,90 (dari skor total 88). Setelah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang personal hygiene adalah 80,87. Ada pengaruh yang signifikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang personal hygiene pada remaja terhadap perilaku pencegahan penyakit scabies di Pondok Pesantren Jauharul Falah Sungai Terap (p-value : 0,000 < 0,05). Kesimpulan : Selisih rata-rata pencegahan penyakit scabies pada remaja sebelum dengan sesudah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang personal hygiene adalah 34,96. Diharapkan pihak UPTD Rawat Inap Puskesmas Muara Kumpeh dapat bekerja sama dengan pihak Pondok Pesantren Jauharul Falah Sungai Terap untuk mengedukasi remaja (Santriwan dan Santriwati) agar selalu memperhatikan kebersihan dirinya, tidak meminjam baju temannya sehingga sehingga angka kejadian scabies di Pondok Pesantren Jauharul Falah Sungai Terap dapat diminimalisir.
