Abstract
This study explores the perception of high school students towards the use of classroom discussion activities to enhance their critical thinking skills. The research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods, focusing on students from SMA 11 Jambi. The findings indicate that the students recognized the positive impact of classroom discussions on their critical thinking abilities. They developed skills such as evaluating the reliability of sources, refuting arguments with factual evidence, determining accuracy, and engaging in interactive discussions with their peers. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the effectiveness of classroom discussions as a means to foster critical thinking among students. Keywords: Perception, classroom discussion, critical thinking.
