Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF LEARNING MOTIVATION IN K-POP FAN STUDENTS AT SMAN 4 KOTA JAMBI Hanum Widya Sani1, Marlita Andhika Rahman2, Dessy Pramudiani3 1Departement of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine and Science, Jambi University/ Hanumwidya15@gmail.com 2Departement of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine and Science, Jambi University/ marlita.rahman@unja.ac.id 3Departement of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine and Science, Jambi University/ dessy.79_psikologi@unja.ac.id ABSTRACT Background: The development of the K-Pop music in Indonesia has resulted in many K-Pop fan throughout Indonesia, including in Jambi. Being a K-Pop fan can make these fans use their idol as motivation or vice versa. Their motivation to learn is also affected. Objective: This study aimed to identify learing motivation in K-Pop fan students, as well to categorize students learning motivation by age, class, and gender. Methods: This study was a quantitative research using descriptive method. The subjects were 56 K-Pop fan students at SMAN 4 Kota Jambi using purposive sampling and snowball sampling technique. The data was collected using google form. The data analysis is using IBM SPSS 26.0. Results: Learning motivation’s description of K-Pop fan students at SMAN 4 Kota Jambi had highest score of 83, lowest score of 50, and mean score of 69.11 with moderate categorization. As many as 41% (23 respondents) were in the moderate category, 21% (12 repondents) were in the high category, and 7% (4 respondents) were in very high category. Conclusion and Suggestion: Learning motivation in K-Pop fan students at SMAN 4 Kota Jambi was on moderate category.the suggestion was for students, school, and researcher.
