Abstract
SAFITRI, WIKE 2024, Developing English Textbook for Drop Out Children Based on Local Pottential Attraction Danau Sipin Jambi. Thesis. English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Jambi University in Academic Year 2023/2024. The first supervisor is Drs. Saharudin, M.Ed., M.App.Sc., P.hD. The second supervisor is Dr. Fortunasari., SS., M.A. This research aimed to develop English textbook specialized for drop out children in Jambi and to know the eligibility criteria of the textbook. The researcher used the drop-out childrens in Danau Sipin area as the sample target. There were 7 drop-out childrens who were willing to be the participants in need analysis. ADDIE Model was used for this study. This study started from Analysis, Design, and terminated until the expert judgment of Development stage. The instrument used in this research was questionnaires (for need analysis and validation sheet). This research involved two validators, which material validator and media validator. The result of this research showed that 1) this development started from analysis which is need analysis and document analysis, then designing the product based on analysis phase, and developing the product stepby- step. 2) This textbook had validated by validators and the result showed the material validator scored 88% for the content and 90% for the usability. Then, the media validator scored 85% for the presentation, then 80% for cover design, and 80% for the usability. The result of from validation showed that the textbook valid to be used. This research was done until expert validation. Therefore, the researcher recommend for other researcher who interest to find the effectiveness of this textbook can conduct an action research to implement and evaluate the textbook. The result of this research can be used as one of the reference for learners, lectures, or further researcher.
