Abstract

Latar Belakang : Diabetes mellitus merupakan penyakit gangguan metabolik ditandai dengan meningkatnya kadar glukosa dalam darah dan membutuhkan pengelolaan mandiri untuk mencegah komplikasi akut dan menurunkan risiko komplikasi kronik. Penerapan manajemen diri pasien diabetes melitus dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya self-efficacy. Individu dengan self-efficacy baik akan meningkatkan keyakinan diri untuk patuh dalam menjalani pengobatan. Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan di Puskesmas Putri Ayu Kota Jambi. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian sebanyak 85 responden dengan diabetes mellitus tipe II menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil : Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, responden dengan self-care baik sebanyak 65 orang (76,5%) dan responden dengan self-efficacy tinggi sebanyak 32 orang (37,6%), dan berdasarkan uji statistik Spearman-Rho didapatkan nilai sig.(2-tailed) yaitu 0,000, dengan angka koefisien korelasi 0,545. Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan antara self-efficacy dengan self-care pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II di Puskesmas Putri Ayu Kota Jambi, karena mayoritas responden memiliki self-care baik dengan tingkat self-efficacy tinggi. Upaya promosi kesehatan mengenai self-care diabetes mellitus perlu ditingkatkan agar dapat menambah pengetahuan dan keyakinan pasien dalam pelaksanaan sel- care diabetes mellitus. Kata Kunci : Diabetes Mellitus tipe II, Primary Health Care, Self Care, Self Efficacy Background : Diabetes mellitus is metabolic disorder characterized by increased blood glucose levels, requires self-management to prevent acute complications and reduce the risk of chronic complications. The implementation of self-management of diabetic patients is influenced by various factors, such as self-efficacy. Individuals with good self-efficacy will increase their confidence to be compliant in undergoing treatment. Methods : This study is quantitative study with cross sectional method. The research was conducted at Putri Ayu Health Center, Jambi City. The number of samples were 85 respondents with Diabetes Mellitus Type-II using purposive sampling technique. Results : Based on results of data analysis, respondents with good self-care were 65 people (76.5%), respondents with high self-efficacy were 32 people (37.6%), and based on Spearman-Rho statistical test obtained sig.(2-tailed) is 0.000, with correlation coefficient of 0.545. Conclusion : There is relationship between self-efficacy and self-care in diabetic patients at Putri Ayu Health Center, Jambi City, because the majority of respondents have good self-care with high level of self-efficacy. Health promotion efforts regarding diabetes mellitus self-care need to be increased in order to increase patient knowledge and confidence in the implementation of diabetes mellitus self care.
