Penerapan Metode Discovery Learning Dalam Pembelajaran Teks Berita di Kelas VII SMP Negeri 11 Kota Jambi Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024: Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra, FKIP, Universitas Jambi. Pembimbing (I) Dra. Rasdawita, M.M. Pembimbing (II) Hilman Yusra, S.Pd., M.Pd. Kata Kunci: metode, discovery learning, teks berita Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode Discovery Learning dalam pembelajaran teks berita di kelas VII SMPN 11 Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah naturalistik. Lokasi penelitian terletak di SMP Negeri 11 Kota Jambi. Menggunakan metode data, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Discovery Learning dalam pembelajaran teks berita di kelas VII F SMP Negeri 11 Kota Jambi bahwa pada pertemuan pertama, (1) bagian stimulus guru memberikan pertanyaan pemantik untuk memicu rasa ingin tahu siswa, (2) bagian identifikasi masalah siswa diminta untuk membuat teks berita, (3) bagian pengumpulan data siswa mulai mengumpulkan informasi sesuai dengan unsur Adiksimba, (4) bagian pengolahan data siswa mulai menyusun teks berita, (5) bagian verifikasi siswa mempresentasikan hasilnya didepan kelas, dan (6) bagian generalisasi guru dan siswa saling menyimpulkan materi yang sudah dibahas. Pada pertemuan kedua, (1) bagian stimulus guru menjelaskan hal-hal yang perlu dicermati dalam menulis teks berita, (2) bagian identifikasi masalah guru membagi siswa menjadi beberapa kelompok, (3) bagian pengumpulan data siswa melakukan wawancara dengan narasumber yang ada disekitar sekolah, (4) bagian pengolahan data siswa menyusun teks berita dari hasil wawancara, (5) bagian verifikasi siswa mempresentasikan hasilnya didepan kelas, dan (6) bagian generalisasi guru dan siswa saling menyimpulkan materi yang sudah dibahas. The results of the research show that the application of the Discovery Learning method in learning news texts in class VII F of SMP Negeri 11 Jambi City is that at the first meeting, (1) the teacher's stimulus section provides trigger questions to trigger students' curiosity, (2) the student's problem identification section is asked to create a news text, (3) the student data collection section begins to collect information according to the elements of Adiksimba, (4) the data processing section students begin to compose the news text, (5) the student verification section presents the results in front of the class, and (6) the teacher's generalization section and students mutually summarize the material that has been discussed. At the second meeting, (1) the teacher's stimulus section explains things that need to be paid attention to when writing news texts, (2) the teacher's problem identification section divides students into several groups, (3) the student data collection section conducts interviews with sources around the school , (4) the data processing section, students compose news texts from the interview results, (5) the verification section, students present the results in front of the class, and (6) the generalization section, teachers and students mutually conclude the material that has been discussed.
