Abstract

Analisis Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis dalam Menyelesaikan Soal HOTS (High Order Thinking) Ditinjau dari Minat Belajar Siswa, Program Pascasarjana Universitas Jambi, Pembimbing: (I) Prof. Dr. Drs. Kamid M.Sc, (II) Dr Yantoro, M.Pd. Kata kunci : Analisis Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, Soal HOTS, High Order Thinking, Minat Belajar. Minat belajar dapat berpengaruh dan meningkatkan hasil belajar dan prestasi belajar. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika memiliki keterkaitan erat dengan minat belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal HOTS karena minat merupakan faktor yang berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keberhasilan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptis dengan jenis studi kasus dengan tujuan menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam menyelesaiakan soal HOTS ditinjau dari minat belajarnya. Analisis dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu memberikan angket minat belajar kepada 33 orang siswa di MTs Negeri 1 Merangin. Hasil angket dianalisis untuk dikelompokkan menjadi tiga kategori yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Selanjutnya, dua orang dari masing-masing kelompok diambil secara acak untuk diberikan soal HOTS guna menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalahnya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara minat belajar dengan keterampilan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Subjek dengan minat belajar tinggi cenderung lebih unggul dalam pemecahan masalah matematis daripada siswa dengan minat belajar sedang dan rendah dikarenakan adanya dorongan dari dalam diri siswa untuk belajar, begitupun sebaliknya. Namun, diketahui bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis selain dipengaruhi level minat belajarnya juga dipengaruhi level kognitif indikator soal HOTS yang dapat memberi kemungkinan siswa untuk mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal. Interest in learning can influence and improve learning outcomes and learning achievement. Student’s problem solving abilities in learning mathematics are closely related to student’s learning interest in solving HOTS questions because interest is a factor that significantly influences student’s learning success. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a case study type with the aim of analyzing student’s problem solving abilities in solving HOTS questions in terms of their learning interests. The analysis was carried out in several stages, namely giving a questionnaire about interest in learning to 33 students at MTs Negeri 1 Merangin. The questionnaire results were analyzed to be grouped into three categories, namely high, medium and low. Next, two people from each group were taken randomly to be given HOTS questions to analyze their problem solving abilities. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between interest in learning and students' mathematical problem solving skills. Subjects with high learning interest tend to be superior in problem solving than students with medium and low learning interest due to the student's inner drive to learn, and vice versa. However, it is known that problem solving abilities, apart from being influenced by the level of interest in learning, are also influenced by the cognitive level of HOTS question indicators which can make it possible for students to experience difficulties in solving questions.
