Abstract

Model pembelajaran yang tepat akan membantu siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuannya, salah satunya kemampuan berpikir kritis. Pada dasarnya berpikir kritis termasuk ke dalam kemampuan penting di abad 21. Hal ini diperlukan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan dan menyesuaikan diri akibat pesatnya perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Realitas di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir kritis saat ini masih rendah. Penerapan model pembelajaran yang tepat, akan membuat siswa berperan aktif dalam proses pembelajaran dan dapat mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritisnya. Model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan adalah project based learning (PjBL) berbasis etnosains. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model project based learning berbasis etnosains terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMAN 5 Muaro Jambi, Desa Arang Arang, Kecamatan Kumpeh Ulu, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling yang melibatkan dua kelas, yaitu kelas X Fase E1 dan Fase E3. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes essai untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa serta lembar observasi keterlaksanaan sintaks model pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yakni uji hipotesis menggunakan uji One-way ancova. The right learning model will help students develop their abilities, one of which is the ability to think critically. Basically, critical thinking is included in the important abilities in the 21st century. This is needed as an effort to improve and adjust due to the rapid development of science and technology. The reality in the field shows that students' ability to think critically is still low. The application of the right learning model will make students play an active role in the learning process and can hone their critical thinking skills. The learning model that can be applied is ethnoscience-based project-based learning (PjBL). The study aims to analyze the effect of ethnoscience-based project-based learning model on students' critical thinking skills. The research was conducted at SMAN 5 Muaro Jambi, Arang Arang Village, Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency. The research design used was a quasi experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling involving two classes, namely class X Phase E1 and Phase E3. Data collection techniques used essay tests to measure students' critical thinking skills and observation sheets for the implementation of the learning model syntax. The data analysis technique used was hypothesis testing using the One-way ancova test.
