Abstract

Alam Barajo District in Jambi City was recorded as generating the highest amount of waste, approximately 79.202 tons per day or 28,988 tons per year, with a population of 101,350 people in 2022. This study aims to analyze the illegal Temporary Waste Storage Sites in Alam Barajo District, Jambi City. The research findings indicate that several illegal Temporary Waste Storage Sites (TPSS) still exist in Alam Barajo District. This is due to low public awareness, a lack of official facilities, the ineffectiveness of waste collection programs, and weak implementation of regulations. Illegal TPSS have negative impacts on the environment and public health, as the accumulation of waste harms aesthetics, pollutes the environment, and becomes a breeding ground for disease vectors. The government has made efforts to address this issue through waste management operations, public outreach, and supervision.
