Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara mendalam implementasi pendekatan STEAM dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas Va SDN 131/IV Kota Jambi. Fokus penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, kendala serta solusi terhadap pembelajaran berbasis STEAM. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis fenomenologi, yang menggali pengalaman nyata guru dan siswa dalam penerapan pembelajaran STEAM. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan guru dan siswa serta dokumentasi. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah menyusun perencanaan pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan unsur-unsur STEAM melalui kegiatan berbasis proyek. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilaksanakan secara tematik dengan menghubungkan antara sains, teknologi, teknik, seni, dan matematika. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui asesmen proses dan produk. Kendala yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan waktu dan sarana, namun dapat diatasi melalui kreativitas guru dan kolaborasi dengan siswa. Dari hasil penelitian dapat di simpulkan implementasi pendekatan STEAM di kelas Va SDN 131/IV Kota Jambi terbukti mampu meningkatkan partisipasi, kreativitas dan pemahaman konsep siswa secara menyeluruh. Pendekatan ini relevan diterapkan di jenjang sekolah dasar dalam rangka menyiapkan peserta didik menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran abad ke-21. This study aims to provide an in-depth description of the implementation of the STEAM approach in the learning process in grade 6 of SDN 131/IV, Jambi City. The research focuses on planning, implementation, evaluation, obstacles, and solutions to STEAM-based learning. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological approach, exploring the real-life experiences of teachers and students in implementing STEAM learning. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that teachers had developed learning plans that integrated STEAM elements through project-based activities. Learning was implemented thematically, connecting science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Evaluation was conducted through process and product assessments. Challenges faced included limited time and resources, but these were overcome through teacher creativity and collaboration with students. The research results concluded that the implementation of the STEAM approach in grade 6 of SDN 131/IV, Jambi City, was proven to increase student participation, creativity, and comprehensive conceptual understanding. This approach is relevant for elementary school implementation to prepare students to face the challenges of 21st-century learning.
