Abstract

Garapan ini terinspirasi dari cerita rakyat Teluk Wang Sakti yang tumbuh dan berkembang di Kabupaten Merangin, tepatnya di Desa Biuku Tanjung dan Desa Air Batu. Cerita Teluk Wang Sakti mengisahkan tentang sebuah peristiwa yang melibatkan pertempuran antara penduduk lokal dan prajurit kerajaan Sriwijaya. Judul karya Lambaian Kain Beruji dimaksudkan untuk menampilkan semangat juang seorang perempuan dibalik kelembutannya. Bagian karya terbagi menjadi tiga bagian. Dasar gerak yang dipilih untuk mewujudkan karya yang berangkat dari kisah Putri Beruji ini adalah gerak tari Kadam, yang berasal dari Desa Muara Madras, Kabupaten Merangin, Provinsi Jambi. Properti yang digunakan pada karya ini yaitu kain panjang berwarna putih. Metode penciptaan karya tari ini menggunakan tahapan menentukan objek, observasi dan pengumpulan data, perumusan dan pengembangan konsep, tahapan pembentukan karya dan memilih penari. This work is inspired by the Teluk Wang Sakti folktale that grew and developed in Merangin Regency, specifically in Biuku Tanjung Village and Air Batu Village. The story of Teluk Wang Sakti tells of an event involving a battle between local residents and soldiers of the Srivijaya Kingdom. The title of the work, Lambaian Kain Beruji, is intended to display the fighting spirit of a woman behind her gentleness. The comprehensive work is divided into three parts. The basic movement chosen to realize this work, which departs from the story of Princess Beruji, is the Kadam dance movement, which originates from Muara Madras Village, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The property used in this work is a long white cloth. The method of creating this dance work uses the stages of determining the object, observation and data collection, formulation and development of the concept, the stage of forming the work and selecting the dancers.
