Abstract
ABSTRACT ESSENCE This research is motivated by the problem of unclear boundaries on the border between Muaro Jambi Regency and Musi Banyuasin which is located in the village of Padang Panjang where if it drags on and is not resolved immediately it can lead to conflict for the community, because this unclear boundary line confuses the administrative affairs of the residents as well. impact on the development sector. The purpose of this study was to determine the form of efforts and factors inhibiting the completion of the Jambi provincial government. The authority for local governments to carry out the principle of autonomy to pay attention to the problem of regional boundaries. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research through in-depth interview techniques using a qualitative approach as the main concentration in this study and where the researcher is the key instrument. The results of the study concluded that: First, the occurrence of a shift in boundaries at regional borders was triggered by broken boundary markers which were not known by the community who were the perpetrators and were not immediately resolved in the settlement by making new boundary markers by the boundary confirming team. Second, there are limited professional human resources (border segment experts), lack of coordination between bordering local governments, facilities and infrastructure that have not reached remote areas, and lack of leadership support in the Regional Boundary Affirmation work program, which considered not to be a priority.
