Abstract

The village of Kampung Nelayan is one of the villages where the majority of the people make a living as fishermen. Togok fishing gear is one of the most widely used fishing gear in the village. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the income of fishermen who use togok fishing gear in Kampung Village. This research was carried out in May - June 2021 in the Village of Fishermen's Village, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. The method used is a survey method by means of interviews and filling out questionnaires. Determination of the number of respondents 20% of the 143 togok fishermen, then the number of respondents is determined as many as 30 people. The method used in determining the respondents using random sampling. This research uses descriptive analysis. Analysis of the data in the form of the number and types of catches sold (Kilograms), the selling price of the catch (Rp), costs used during fishing operations (fixed costs and variable costs) (Rp). The results showed that the income of fishermen who had togok fishing gear was Rp. 308.960,- determined by the receipt of Rp. 544.460,- minus the total cost of Rp. 235,500,-. Revenue is determined by the catch of togok in the form of rebon shrimp, yellow shrimp, lomek fish, striped shrimp, lime shrimp, and the yield of Baiket. While the total cost is determined by fixed costs and variable costs. The conclusion of this study is that the income that fishermen can get from their catch using togok nets is Rp.308,960/day. In analyzing the Benefit Cost Ratio, it was found that fishermen who use togok fishing gear are a viable or profitable business.
