Kata Kunci :Kemampuan menulis, Media pembelajaran,Foto peristiwa nyata, Teks Berita Penelitian ini bertujuan untukUntuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan foto peristiwa nyata terhadap kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa kelas VIII di SMP N 7 Muaro Jambi. Melalui media pembelajaran foto peristiwa nyata, dapat berpengaruh ke pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia terutama materi teks berita. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pre experimental designs dengan bentuk penelitian one group pretest posttest design . Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 7 Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII H yang terdiri atas 28 siswa. Objek penelitian ini adalah kemampuan menulis siswa pada materi teks berita . Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua test yang terdiri dari pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media pembelajaran foto perisiwa nyata Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan penggunaan media pembelajaran media foto peristiwa nyata terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa pada teks berita, yang dibuktikan dengan kemampuan menulis siswa pada teks berita kelas VIII H SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. Peningkatan tersebut ditunjukkan dari kualitas proses pembelajaran yang tercermin dari keaktifan, perhatian dan konsentrasi siswa pada pelajaran, minat siswa selama pembelajaran,dan keterampilan siswa dalam menulis berita. Peningkatan dapat dilihat Berdasarkan uji normalitas diketahui nilai signifikansi Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas diketahui nilai signifikansi 0.909 > 0.05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai residual berdistribusi normal. Hasil uji homogenitas berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan pengolaan data yang dilakukan dengan program SPSS 21, diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,616 > 0,005, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa data penelitian yang diperoleh berdistribusi homogeny. Sehingga bisa dilanjutkan dengan uji hipotesis menggunakan Uji t. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t terhadap data pre-test dan post-test hasil kemampuan siswa pada teks berita dengan menggunakan media foto peristiwa nyata pada materi teks berita kelas VIII H SMP N 7 Muaro Jambi diperoleh nilai sign. .0,873 > 0,05 Berdasarkan uji N-Gain, dapat dianalisis bahwa selisih antara nilai pretest dan posttest menghasilkan nilai N-Gain. Dimana rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 57,8 dan rata-rata nilai posttest adalah sebesar 86,1dengan rata-rata perolehan N-Gain sebesar 62,3 dan masuk dalam kategori sedang. Sehingga dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran foto peristiwa nyata memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. Keywords: Writing ability, Learning media, Photos of real events, News text This study aims to determine the effect of using photos of real events on the ability to write news texts for class VIII students at SMP N 7 Muaro Jambi. Through learning media, photos of real events can affect Indonesian language learning, especially news text material. This type of research is a pre-experimental design research with one group pretest posttest design research form. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi Regency. The research subjects were students of class VIII H which consisted of 28 students. The object of this research is the students' writing ability on news text material. The study was conducted in two tests consisting of a pretest and a posttest. The results of this study indicate that the application of real event photo learning media has a positive and significant effect on the students' writing ability in news texts, as evidenced by students' writing skills in news texts for class VIII H SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. The improvement is indicated by the quality of the learning process which is reflected in the activeness, attention and concentration of students in the lesson, students' interest during learning, and students' skills in writing news. The increase can be seen. Based on the normality test, the significance value is known. The results of the homogeneity test based on the results of calculations and data processing carried out with the SPSS 21 program, obtained a significance value of 0.616 > 0.005, it can be concluded that the research data obtained are homogeneously distributed. So it can be continued with hypothesis testing using t test. Based on the results of the t-test on the pre-test and post-test data on the results of the students' ability in news texts by using photo media of real events in news text material for class VIII H SMP N 7 Muaro Jambi, the sign value was obtained. .0.873 > 0.05 Based on the N-Gain test, it can be analyzed that the difference between the pretest and posttest scores results in an N-Gain value. Where the average pretest value is 57.8 and the posttest average is 86.1 with an average N-Gain acquisition of 62.3 and is in the medium category. So it can be concluded that the use of learning media photos of real events has an influence on the ability to write news texts for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi.
