Abstract

Emotional Maturity in Women who Married Early and Chooses to Maintain Their Marriage in Bedaro Village, Bungo Regency Okta Zarnilus Email : oktazarnilus@gmail.com ABSTRACT Early marriage is a marriage carried out by a partner or one of the partners is still categorized under the age of 19 years. Early marriage generally occurs in remote areas of Indonesia, more often found among families with low economics, although it also occurs among families with high economics. This study aims to see a picture of emotional maturity in women who do early marriages who still maintain their households. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Methods of data collection with documentation and interviews, the process of data analysis in this study using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Characteristics of female participants who married early, women under 21 years of age and men under 25 years of age. The results of the description of the emotional maturity of women who marry at an early age and choose to maintain their household in Bedaro Village, Bungo Regency, namely independence, the ability to hold anger, the ability to hold back anger. partner, prioritize children and respond to family circumstances. the three participants have described emotional maturity marked by the fulfillment of seven themes of emotional maturity. This research is expected to be able to add insight into emotional maturity, especially for women who marry at an early age.
