Abstract

The presidential election in Muaro Jambi Regency in 2019 was won by the Jokowi-Ma'ruf pair, therefore the purpose of this research is to find out how the behavior of community voters in Muaro Jambi Regency and what factors influence the formation of people's behavior in determining their choice. This type of research is qualitative with data collection methods through interviews and documentation. The data collected are primary data and secondary data, while determining the informants using purposive sampling. There are three data analysis techniques used, namely: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that there are three factors that influence the behavior of community voters in Muaro Jambi Regency in determining their choices. And in the results of this study there are factors that dominate voter behavior, namely rational factors, in which voters choose based on personal or rational reasons, voters are not influenced by things such as giving goods and the like, meaning that voters choose based on their own beliefs and based on what the candidate sees.
