Abstract

RINGKASAN Sistem otomasi industri pada era globalisasi menjadi suatu kebutuhan didunia. Industri manufaktur dan furniture membutuhkan alat penyortir logam dan non logam dalam penyortiran bahan baku agar terhindar dari barang yang tidak sesuai dengan standar. Pada saat ini sudah banyak industri menggunakan PLC sebagai sistem kontrol untuk proses penyortiran. Dalam sistem kontrol penyortir material digunakan sensor proximity induktif dan proximity kapasitif serta menggunakan belt conveyor sebagai mekanisme untuk mempercepat proses penyortiran. Dirancang dan dibangun Prototype Penyortir Material Logam Dan Non Logam Berbasis PLC. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode trial and error. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa dalam merancang dan membangun sistem kontrol berbasis PLC mampu bekerja dengan benar. Hasil pengujian sensor proximity induktif dan kapasitif ditetapkan jarak efesien untuk alat penyortir ialah 3 mm dari objek yang akan diuji. Pengujian selanjutnya dilakukan dengan material yang berbeda sebanyak 10 kali percobaan, dan diperoleh persentase keberhasilan sebagai berikut, kayu 70%, besi 70%, alumunium 70%, dan plastik 60%. Pada percobaan keseluruhan yang dilakukan selama 1 jam alat mampu meyortir material sebanyak 1842 unit, diantaranya kayu 456 unit, Besi 432 unit, alumunium 486 unit dan plastik 468 unit. Kata kunci : PLC, Sensor Proximity, Sortir. ABSTRACT Industrial automation systems in the era of globalization have become a necessity in the world. The manufacturing and furniture industry requires metal and non-metal sorting equipment in raw materials to avoid items that do not comply with standards. Many industries are using PLC as a control system for the sorting process. In the material sorter control system, inductive proximity sensors and capacitive proximity sensors are used, and use a conveyor belt as a mechanism to speed up the sorter process. From the problems above, the authors propose a solution with the title "design of a PLC-based metal and non-metal material sorter prototype". In this study, researchers used the trial and error method. The results of the research that already finished show that in designing and building a PLC-based control system it can work according to design. The test results of the inductive and capacitive proximity sensors were successful in detecting material with a distance of 3 mm. Subsequent tests were carried out with different materials for 10 trials, and the success proportions were obtained as follows, wood 70%, iron 70%, aluminum 70%, and plastic 60%. In the overall experiment which was conducted for 1 hour, the tool was able to sort 1842 materials, including 456 units of wood, 432 units of iron, 486 units of aluminum, and 468 units of plastic.
