Abstract
Developing Genre-Based Instructional Video of Speaking for General Purposes Course at Jambi University Anisa Desmasari deaanisadesmasari@gmail.com Jambi University, Jambi ABSTRACT This research was a research and development (R&D) study aimed to developing genre-based instructional video media used for Speaking for General Purpose course at Jambi University. This research used qualitative and quantitative method for developing the media. ADDIE by Lee & Owen as an instructional design model were used in this research. The stages of ADDIE model were started from analyzing the problems, designing schedule, developing the steps, validating and improving the media product, trialing the instructional video, and analyzing data obtained from validator and students. The result showed that the material validation score was 89% categorized in “very good” category. Then, media validation score was 77% classified in “very good” category, and the trial score to the big group of students was 3.4 in scale of 4.00 categorized in “very good” category. It can be concluded that the product developed in this research ready to be used. Suggestion for further research is also discuss in this thesis.
