Abstract
Adla, Sheyla Halimatul. 2023. The Correlation of Vocabulary Notebook and Autonomous Learning on Students’ Vocabulary Acquisition and Achievement. Thesis. Master Program of English Education Language and Art Department Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Jambi University in the academic year 2022/202. The first supervisor is Prof Hadiyanto., S.Pd., M.Ed., Ph.D. The second supervisor is Bunga Ayu Wulandari, S.Pd., M.EIL., Ph.D. ABSTRACT Learning English vocabulary has many strategies, especially for EFL students. Vocabulary Notebook and Autonomous learning word learning goals new vocabulary and to gain the goal of word learning. This research focused on finding the correlation and effect of vocabulary notebooks and autonomous learning on students’ vocabulary acquisition and achievement. This research is quantitative research, and the researcher conducted the research on the Second-grade students of senior high school of Al-hidayah Islamic Boarding School Jambi. The data were collected by questionnaire which was distributed by offline questionnaire. And analysing students’ vocabulary test scores was as students’ vocabulary achievement. SPSS analyzed the data. Furthermore, the data analyses were from descriptive analyses and Inferential analyses. The result of this research is. There is a correlation between vocabulary notebook and autonomous learning on students’ vocabulary acquisition as same as vocabulary achievement. In addition, there is positive correlation between vocabulary notebook and autonomous learning on students’ vocabulary acquisition. However, there is no significant effect between vocabulary notebook and autonomous learning on students’ vocabulary achievement. Furthermore, the recommendation for further research is to focus more on students’ and teachers’ difficulties in learning and teaching vocabulary. To find out the current strategy in word learning.
