Abstract

Perlakuan yang digunakan b0 : Tanpa biochar (kontrol); b1 : Biochar Kulit Kopi 5 ton/ha; b2 : Biochar Kulit Kopi 10 ton/ha; b3 : Biochar Kulit Kopi 15 ton/ha; b4 : Biochar Kulit Kopi 20 ton/ha; b5: Biochar Kulit Kopi 25 ton/ha. Research on the effect of coffee husk biochar on ultisol pore distribution and soybean yield was carried out at the Teaching and Resource Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi, in Mendalo Darat Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, starting from July to October 2022. This study used a randomized design. Group (RAK) with 6 treatments and 4 replications, so there were 24 experimental plots. Treatment used b0 : Without biochar (control); b1 : Coffee Husk Biochar 5 tons/ha; b2 : Coffee Husk Biochar 10 tons/ha; b3 : Coffee Husk Biochar 15 ton/ha; b4 : Coffee Husk Biochar 20 ton/ha; b5: Coffee Husk Biochar 25 ton/ha. The variables observed were: Volume Weight, Total Pore Space, Fast Drainage Pore, Slow Drainage Pore, Available Water Pore and soybean yield. The results showed that the application of coffee husk biochar treatment to Ultisols was not able to reduce the unit weight (BV), increase the total pore space (TRP), rapid pore drainage (PDC), and soil available water pore (PAT). However, the application of coffee husk biochar had a significant effect on slow drainage pores (PDL) and soil organic matter content. The application of coffee husk biochar treatment has not significantly increased soybean yields, but has a tendency to increase soybean yields. The highest soybean yield was found in the coffee Husk biochar treatment of 25 tons/ha with a yield of 2.70 tons/ha.
