Abstract

INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tanaman berbunga terhadap perkembangan hama perusak daun pada tanaman kedelai. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan dan Laboratorium Hama Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi selama 3 bulan, dari Agustus hingga November 2022. Dua perlakuan yang dibandingkan pada penelitian ini yaitu monokultur dan tumpang sari (kedelai + Zinnia elegans dan Tagetes erecta), masing-masing menempati lahan seluas 10,5 m x 6,5 m untuk setiap petak percobaan, terdiri dari 10 satuan percobaan dengan 4 tanaman sampel pada setiap satuan pengamatan mingguan. Variabel pengamatan meliputi jenis dan populasi hama, persentase daun yang terserang, intensitas serangan, serta jenis dan populasi musuh alami hama perusak daun. Pengamatan dilakukan mulai dari 1 minggu setelah penanaman kedelai sampai dengan 5 minggu setelahnya dengan pengamatan langsung dan menggunakan alat perangkap nampan kuning dan alat perangkap lengket kuning. Lima perangkap nampan kuning dipasang di setiap petak percobaan, dan satu perangkap lengket kuning dipasang di setiap unit percobaan, dibiarkan di lapangan selama 24 jam. Data jenis hama perusak daun, persentase dan intensitas serangan daun, serta jenis dan populasi musuh alami dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan langsung dan data perangkap. Data yang diperoleh dari masing-masing metode diidentifikasi, dihitung, dan dianalisis menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan empat jenis hama perusak daun pada kedua perlakuan. Namun, tidak ada pengaruh yang nyata dari tanaman berbunga terhadap jenis dan populasi hama perusak daun, persentase daun yang terserang hama tersebut, intensitas serangan, maupun jenis dan populasi musuh alami hama perusak daun. Sebagai kesimpulan, penelitian ini tidak menemukan bukti yang menunjukkan bahwa tanaman berbunga berdampak besar terhadap hama perusak daun atau musuh alaminya pada tanaman kedelai. Penelitian lebih lanjut disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi metode tambahan untuk pengendalian hama dan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif tentang interaksi hama-musuh alami dalam agroekosistem kedelai. Kata kunci: tumbuhan berbunga, tanaman kedelai, hama perusak daun, tumpang sari, pengendalian hama ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the impact of flowering plants on the development of leaf-destroying pests in soybean plants. The research was conducted at the Research Farm and Pest Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, over a period of 3 months, from August to November 2022. Two treatments were compared: monoculture and intercropping (soybean + Zinnia elegans and Tagetes erecta), each occupying an area of 10.5 m x 6.5 m for every experimental plot, consisting of 10 experimental units with 4 sample plants in each unit observed weekly. The observation variables included the identification and population of pests, the percentage of infested leaves, the intensity of attacks, and the type and population of natural enemies of leaf-destroying pests. Observations were made from 1 week after soybean planting until 5 weeks after by direct observation and by employing yellow pan traps and yellow sticky traps. Five yellow pan traps were installed in each experimental plot, and one yellow sticky trap was placed in each experimental unit, which was left in the field for 24 hours. Data on the types of leaf-destroying pests, the percentage and intensity of infested leaves, and the types and populations of natural enemies were collected through direct observations and trap data. The data obtained from each method were identified, calculated, and analyzed using the t-test. The results showed that four types of leaf-destroying pests were found in both treatments. However, there was no significant effect of flowering plants on the type and population of leaf-destroying pests, the percentage of leaves attacked by these pests, the intensity of the attacks, or the type and population of natural enemies of leaf-destroying pests. In conclusion, this study did not find any evidence to suggest that flowering plants had a substantial impact on leaf-destroying pests or their natural enemies in soybean crops. Further research is recommended to explore additional methods for pest control and to gain a more comprehensive understanding of pest-natural enemy interactions in soybean agroecosystems.
