Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini ialah mendeskripsikan struktur dan kaidah kebahasaan teks eksplanasi dalam buku Bahasa Indonesia Kelas VIII Terbitan Kemendikbud Edisi Revisi 2017. Alasan penulis melakukan penelitian ini didasarkan atas kebaharuanjenis teks eksplanasi dalam kurikulum 2013, kurangnya referensi belajar guru danpeserta didik, rendahnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam menganalisis struktur dan kaidah kebahasaan teks eksplanasi, serta untuk membuktikan kelayakan buku itu sendiri. Metode yang digunakan ialah studi literatur dan dokumentasi dengan serangkaian teknik catat untuk menandai hal-hal referensial terhadap bagian teks yang dianalisis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif-analisis. Data penelitian ini berupa uraian kata-kata, kalimat dan paragraf yang dinarasikan setelah proses analisis mendalam. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh bahwa teks eksplanasi Pangeran Diponegoro, Perkembangan Kabupaten Bandung, Arus Energi, dan Pembentukan fosil secara lengkap memenuhi tiga bagian dari struktur teks eksplanasi yang terdiri dari pernyataan umum, urutan kejadian dan ulasan. Selain itu, kaidah kebahasaan teks eksplanasi yang ditemukan cukup lengkap. Namun, adapula yang tidak. Teks dengan kaidah kebahasaan yang tidak lengkap yaitu teks dengan topik arus energi dan pembentukan fosil. Selain itu, ditemukan adanya kesalahan dalam penggunaan ejaan yaitu penggunaan kata dasar, penggunaan huruf kapital, dan tanda baca spasi ( ). Teks tersebut adalah Pangeran Diponegoro dan Perkembangan Kabupaten Bandung. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa struktur teks dan kaidah kebahasaanteks eksplanasi dalam buku terbitan Kemendikbud masih perlu dikaji kembali guna memperbaiki kualitas bahan ajar yang digunakan. The purpose of this research is to describe the structure and language rules of explanatory text in Class VIII Indonesian books published by the 2017 Revised Edition of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The reasons for conducting this research are based on the renewal of the types of explanatory text in the 2013 curriculum, the lack of references for teacher and student learning, the low ability of students to analyze structure and language rules of explanatory text, as well as to prove the feasibility of the book itself. The method used is literature study and documentation with a series of note-taking techniques to mark references to the part of the text being analyzed. This research is a descriptive-analytic research. The research data is in the form of descriptions of words, sentences and paragraphs which are narrated after an in-depth analysis process. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the explanatory text of Prince Diponegoro, Development of Bandung Regency, Energy Flow, and Formation of fossils completely fulfills the three parts of the explanatory text structure which consists of general statements, sequence of events and commentary. In addition, the linguistic rules of the explanatory text found are quite complete. However, some are not. Texts with incomplete language rules are texts on the topic of energy flow and fossil formation. In addition, it was found that there were errors in the use of spelling, namely the use of basic words, the use of capital letters, and punctuation spaces ( ). The text is Prince Diponegoro and the Development of Bandung Regency. The conclusions of this study indicate that the text structure and language rules of explanatory texts in books published by the Ministry of Education and Culture still need to be reviewed in order to improve the quality of the teaching materials used.
